Cheryle A. Broom
King County Auditor


Currently the King County Auditor in Seattle, Washington, Cheryle Broom directs organizations that provide oversight and improve the cost-effectiveness of public services.  Other positions include First Deputy Inspector General for the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Legislative Auditor for Washington State.  Cheryle has also served as President of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and Chair of ASPA’s Center for Accountability and Performance, and is on the board of the Community Indicators Consortium.

Cheryle is a recognized leader in promoting performance-based government having contributed to publications, forums and training programs on performance measurement and management for national and international organizations.  In 2005, Cheryle received the Excellence in Government Leadership Award from the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).  She felt honored to receive the AGA Seattle Chapter’s nomination.

Cheryle is a Certified Government Financial Manager and Certified Inspector General with a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Washington.
